The Writer’s Refuge

Cozy living room with a patterned loveseat, bookshelf, and round ottoman.

Combining the space and time to write with deep healing work, connects you with Spirit.

The healing work includes breathwork, reiki and sound. It is an integral part of the process, helping to release any blocks caused by negative thoughts or behaviour patterns. It also puts us in the ‘flow state’, connecting us to Spirit and allowing inspiration to flow freely.Whether you are starting out on your writing journey, working on the final edits or at any point in between, the Writer’s Refuge at Forest Spirit Retreat provides you with the support and space to create.

The retreat can be curated for any length of time from three days to three weeks.

Held by the powerful energy of the land and the gently nurturing environment,

you have the space to hear yourself, receive inspiration with ease and step into co-creation.

Open notebook with a pen and pink flowers on a wooden table, vase of flowers in the background.

It’s a unique combination of writing time and deep healing work.

Each day starts with setting intentions and includes an in-depth personal healing session, tailored to your needs.

The main part of the day is given to your writing.

All supported by delicious, nourishing vegetarian food most of which is grown in our own greenhouse and garden.

Seven days ago I arrived at the Forest Spirit Retreat with an unfinished book draft and a heart full of questions I didn’t even know were there. What unfolded on this land among smiling trees was more magical than I imagined. There were fun free-flowing meditations with trees and hours I couldn't stop writing. I got to meet a curious fox and watch a double rainbow appear and disappear like a sunset.

Then there was the deep soul work of facing lifelong patterns in myself thanks to Alessa’s clear, kind and fierce healing mastery, without which I could not have figured out the end to this book. My potent time here is bringing a surprising ending to both my manuscript and a chapter of my life.

Writing is so often seen as a solitary act, but here I’ve discovered that profound stories can emerge when we’re held in community and sacred space.
